3 days in Berlin – night strolls

  • May 4, 2016

Night offers a different perspective and reduces greatly the number of tourists, which can be helpfull to shoot symbols like these ones: Brandenburg Gate The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe Checkpoint Charlie Remains of the Berlin wall (or "selfies wall" during daytime) It's also at night that the Sony Center reveals its colour range the best: And that buildings sparkle: At last, there are atmospheres which simply do not exist at daytime: Next week, I'll share my daytime wandering!

3 days in Berlin – Mitte

  • April 27, 2016

I had heard the Friedrichstrasse shopping center offered interesting photo possibilities. I had to check and I found this: Right next to it is the Gendarmenmarkt place with its French and German churches that I dreamt of seeing again since my first visit about twenty years before. What's better than a flower pot to brighten up buildings?! The Deutscher Dom is also interesting to visit: A pretty graphic start then. Next episode with a night stroll very soon ;)

A Belgian Eiffel tower

No matter how much I like the Eiffel tower, I wish I had less occasions to pay her a visit. A few months after wearing the French flag, she dressed up with the Belgium colours. I took these photos one month ago.

3 days in Berlin – the eclipse

  • April 20, 2016

In this article of March the 25th 2015, I promised to show you the photos I had just taken in the German capital "soon". I don't know what you expect with "soon" but I was certainly not thinking "in a year"! Unfortunately, I am even later with other subjects but "better late than never"! Let's start with the beginning, that's on March the 20th that I flew towards the East, date of a solar eclipse. A little disappointed of being in the air at the time of the eclipse, I was hoping to land before the end of the show, in spite of my failure to find specific glasses. I did and actually I was lucky...

Evil Dust @ La Citrouille

After years of concert photography, I got a little tired of it, but when my mates start a new band and have their first gig, I find myself right in front of the stage with a camera stuck on my face.  Can't help it! Here is Evil Dust at La Citrouille (Saint Brieuc) on the 16th January 2016. PS: If you check the videos on their Facebook page, you might be able to spot me ;)

Make a bokeh filter

  • April 6, 2016

I have been wanting to try shaped bokeh for a while. The new year was a good reason to actually do it for my greeting card. I will show you here how I proceeded. First of all, what is bokeh? It's the blur in the background of a photograph. You get it by focusing on a foreground with a wide depth of field. Sometimes, when there is a source of light in the background, the lense diaphragm gives colourful spots. It's the shaped of these spots that you can change thanks to a filter in front of the lens. For this, you will need: a cutting mat thick black paper a pencil an eraser scissors an...
